Supplementary Game Notes

Game 38:  Bridgeport Bluefish @ Newark Bears, Thursday, June 12, 2003

Bottom of the 9th inning:  Played in the pouring rain.  The Bears were up by 5 runs and the Bluefish loaded the bases with no outs, so it was evident that the umpires wanted to make sure they had every chance to make it a contest.  Luckily, Ponce Deleon got the last three outs just before the lightning would have forced the game into a delay, if not an outright end.
