July 11, 2004:  Newark Bears News has been tracking your former Bears this summer, and presents this update for your enjoyment.  All statistics are as of July 11, 2004.

 

Jaime Navarro and Paul Esposito are playing for the Grosseto Prink in Italy.  Check out this news excerpt translated by Google from the original Italian:

Pito Ramirez is retired from professional ball and working in New Jersey.

 

Ryan Minor, Alberto Castillo, Joe Matullo, Wil Quintana, and Damon Ponce de Leon are with the Atlantic City SurfRyan has hit 15 home runs. Damon has won seven games, leading the Surf. Alberto is 3-1.

 

Jimmy Hurst is batting .306 for the New Haven Cutters of the independent Northeast League, and Tim Keinath is 2-2 pitching for the Cutters, with an ERA of 3.54.

 

Jay LaFlair is with the New Jersey Jackals of the independent Northeast League.

 

Kris Kozlowski is with the Long Island DucksKris is 3-0 for the Ducks, with an ERA of 4.14.
